The Supreme Court of Oromia disclosed that it is closely following the act of beating done to the judges in Yayya Gullalle Woreda of North Shewa Zone of Oromia Region. Security forces in North Shewa Zone of Oromia beat a Judge and his colleague in Yayya Gullelle Woreda whom they later detained, it was disclosed.
Judges of Yayya Gullelle Woreda Court, Mr. Jenenus Negasa and Mr. Kenenisa Kebebew, were receiving treatment at the hospital because of the harm they sustained but they were later detained in a military camp nearby interrupting the treatment, according to sources.
The Supreme Court of Oormia has issued statement that it is closely following the issue of beating done to the judges in question.

The Supreme Court of Oromia has verified the act of beating done to the Yayya Gullelle Court Judgevs of North Shewa Zone. Following the verification, the Court has been in discussion with concerned officials of the Government at Regional level. The investigation was ongoing on the basis of order passed to the Zone over the action and the finding of the investigation shall be made public as soon as it is concluded”, the Court explained.
The CDG encourages the investigation underway by the Supreme Court of Oormia which would hopefully lead to identification of clear background to the incident in order to take appropriate corrective measure. We believe the Rule of Law should be fully observed as an element contributing to peace and stability of the country.
