CDG in collaboration with VSO –Ethiopia launched a project titled “Resilience Borders: Enhancing Peace, Climate Adaptation, Livelihood, and Preparedness – RECAP” to be implemented among communities in the Ethiopia – Kenyan Border.
The project provides opportunity to the National and Community Volunteers in the facilitation of community engagement during the project activity implementation.
Prior to inception of the training, ten community volunteers were recruited from the target community based on preset criteria for the training, which was provided by experienced experts of CDG and VSO_ Ethiopia. The training consisted contents like RECAP design, Climate Change and Adaptation, Vulnerability Risk Assessment and Resource Mapping, Community Action Plan and Water and [other] Natural Resource Management.
According to the Project plan, the trainees shall be deployed back to their respective community to execute their assignment which includes support activities planned to enhance the community resilience; orient them about climate adaptation mechanisms; creation of awareness on vulnerability preparedness; and strengthening overall livelihoods.
