The Center for Development and Governance (CDG) conducted consultative workshop among the cross border communities of Miyo District of Ethiopia and Sololo County of Kenya on May2, 2026 in Miyo Town. The consultative meeting brought together fourteen (14) community representatives and government officials in Miyo-Sololo corridor to discuss Natural Resource Management challenges; identify root causes of the challenges; and seek solutions. From the Kenyan side the chief from Anona, CBRMCs and other key sector leaders and from Ethiopia the District Busa Gonofa and Agriculture office representatives attended the consultative meeting.
CDG in collaboration with VSO –Ethiopia launched a project titled “Resilience Borders: Enhancing Peace, Climate Adaptation, Livelihood, and Preparedness – RECAP” to be implemented among communities in the Ethiopia – Kenyan Border.
The project provides opportunity to the National and Community Volunteers in the facilitation of community engagement during the project activity implementation.
The CDG conducted launching of a project titled “Fruit Trees for Mitigation of Climate Change Impacts in the Semi-Urban Areas of Shaggar City” in Kura – Jidda Sub City of Shaggar City. The launching was attended by Administrator of the Sub City, Agriculture Experts, Horticulture Expert, and other various sectors representatives.
